Call for Short Paper and Poster

The increasing rate of urbanization demands innovative solutions to enhance sustainability, efficiency and quality of life in cities. Geospatial Technologies including Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Remote Sensing and Location Intelligence, play a crucial role in shaping Smart Cities. GeoMundus 2025 invites students, researchers and professionals to submit papers and posters on “Geospatial Technologies for Smart Cities”, covering advancements, applications and challenges in this field.

We encourage submissions that explore the integration of geospatial technologies in Smart City development, including:

  • Urban planning and infrastructure (3D city modeling and digital twins, land use optimization, traffic management, mobility solutions).
  • Environmental sustainability and resilience (climate change adaptation, green areas planning, air and water quality monitoring).
  • Smart governance and citizen engagement (real-time city management, participatory GIS, crime mapping).
  • IoT and Big Data for Smart Cities (IoT sensors with GIS, AI and machine learning, Big data visualization).
  • Disaster management and risk assessment (flood and earthquake risk modeling, emergency response optimization, post-disaster damage assessment).

* This process does not exclude the author to submit the paper to other papers, journals, or conferences
