Panoramica UJI

Geospatial technology and the open source movement

The theme of this year’s conference is geospatial technology and the open source movement

The rapid development of the open source movement has brought with it sweeping changes in the way that information is sourced, understood and used. Open source GIS is still in its infancy compared to other, more mature disciplines, but it fits neatly within the rubric of the open source movement. Its potential is enormous, but so too are the potential risks.

Geomundus 2013 hopes to explore the world of open source as it applies to our discipline in a manner which informs, stimulates and entertains.

Why and How to attend?

This conference aims to promote the professional development of Erasmus Mundus Master and other students. It provides students with an opportunity to present their own research, share their ideas and learn about the work of others from a variety of broad but interrelated fields. Furthermore, it creates a forum to meet other students from a diverse range of backgrounds, and share experiences and knowledge.

Remember everybody is welcome to attend to the conference, even if you don't submit papers.
