Geomundus

GeoMundus is a symposium held by the students from the consortium of Erasmus Mundus (EM) International Master's program in Geospatial Technologies. It is a free of charge conference organized by students and for students. Conference participants come from more than 25 countries. This year the Geomundus 2013 Conference will be held in Castellón de la Plana - Spain on November from 14th to 16th.

The theme of this year’s conference is geospatial technology and the open source movement

The rapid development of the open source movement has brought with it sweeping changes in the way that information is sourced, understood and used. Open source GIS is still in its infancy compared to other, more mature disciplines, but it fits neatly within the rubric of the open source movement. Its potential is enormous, but so too are the potential risks.

Geomundus 2013 hopes to explore the world of open source as it applies to our discipline in a manner which informs, stimulates and entertains.
