About GeoMundus Conference
The GeoMundus Conference is an international event focused on Geoinformatics and Geospatial Technologies, organised by students for students. It is hosted by students in the Erasmus Mundus Master's program in Geospatial Technologies. Since its inception in 2009, the conference has been held annually at different organising universities: NOVA IMS in Lisbon, Portugal; the University of Münster in Germany; and Universitat Jaume I (UJI) in Castellón de la Plana, Spain. This year marks the 17th edition of the conference, which has the theme "Geospatial Technologies for Smart Cities." It will take place at NOVA IMS, University of Lisbon, in Lisbon, Portugal, and attendance is free of charge.
Organised by students, this unique conference welcomes experts, researchers, professionals, policymakers, and anyone interested in smart cities. It provides a valuable opportunity to explore real-world applications, engage with the geospatial field, and connect with a diverse, forward-thinking community. As future geospatial professionals, we aim to foster dialogue about how geospatial technologies can shape smart, sustainable cities.
This year's conference will feature keynote speakers, workshops, paper and poster presentations, career development sessions, and networking events. Past keynote speakers have included notable figures in the geospatial field, such as Dr. Michael Goodchild, Dr. Werner Kuhn, and John Nelson.
